Inspiring Young Minds

Our Educational Pathway

At Oxford Little Angels (OLA) Primary School we do not just teach. We aim to ignite curiosity and a lifelong passion for knowledge. Our curriculum combines the rigorous standards of South Africa’s National Curriculum Assessment Policy Statements (CAPS) framework with our own dynamic approach that allows learners to learn through practical application. We believe that students excel when they are actively engaged and intellectually stimulated within a secure environment.

We also organise regular academic excursions to carefully selected destinations such as science centres or historical reserves. These educational experiences are designed to broaden their horizons and show our learners that with critical thinking and determination the impossible becomes possible.

Whether your child is starting Grade One or preparing for high school our goal is to ensure they become confident and capable and highly analytical thinkers. We maintain focused class sizes so that every student receives the individualised instruction and mentorship they require to thrive.

From Grade 1 to Grade 7

A Comprehensive Six Step Curriculum

Grade 1

Learners step into formal schooling with a strong focus on core mathematics and advanced phonics and comprehensive home language skills. Our educators use practical applications to make complex academic concepts accessible and highly engaging. Children build strong self assurance as they adapt to a rigorous academic schedule.

Grade 2

Building on their early foundations students begin to analyse more complex texts and compose their own structured narratives. We expand their mathematical reasoning and introduce comprehensive life skills lessons. Every child feels completely supported as they transition toward independent study and critical inquiry.

Grade 3

Mastery of core academic disciplines takes centre stage to ensure children are thoroughly prepared for future academic rigour. We introduce advanced reading comprehension and research based projects. Learners also discover how to collaborate effectively in groups and resolve complex challenges independently.

Grade 4

Entering the next educational phase brings a much wider variety of demanding subjects including natural sciences and technology and social sciences. Learners develop essential study methodologies and learn how to manage their own academic workload. They take on significant academic responsibility while discovering how to research information thoroughly and accurately.

Grade 5 and Grade 6

Learners dive deeply into historical analysis and geographical systems and more complex mathematical theorems. Our educators guide them to become highly analytical thinkers who can clearly express their own well reasoned arguments and evaluate different perspectives. Children learn to collaborate efficiently in team projects and take true ownership of their educational journey.

Grade 7

Absolute high school readiness becomes the primary focus as senior learners step up to their new leadership responsibilities. We introduce economic and management sciences alongside their core subjects to build a highly competitive academic profile. We expect a standard of absolute academic excellence and provide extensive leadership opportunities to build exceptional character.

Hear From Our OLA Family

Mrs. Maria Parent

My daughter just finished her first year of primary school at Paterson Park primary school. She got the highest achiever award. Her teachers are saying that she is very focused and seems to be ahead of all her peers. I believe that it is because we chose the right preschool. OLA, thank you very much.

Mrs. Olivia Parent

I'm so grateful to the entire team at Oxford Little Angels. My son has grown a lot in confidence and knowledge since he started. Noella has been very easy to communicate with. She has been caring and seems to really know what she is doing. I would highly recommend OLA to anyone looking for a good creche.

Mr. David Guardian

This is honestly such a good school. My grandson attended OLA and now my granddaughter does too. I can't say enough how much they have improved. They can read, count, draw, dance, sing at higher levels than their age. They actually enjoy going to school. They are even asking me to read storybooks with them constantly.
